The working class create the wealth through their toil. The ruling class just own the land and tools. They make nothing themselves.

Only the elite truly succeed in capitalism. It's a complete myth that anyone can get ahead unless by accident of birth into an already wealthy family. It's akin to playing monopoly where one player starts with 90% of the bank and property. Sure statistically you can still win with a long chain of lucky dice rolls but the probability of doing so is tiny.

Democratic socialism is a safeguard to fix that imbalance. It keeps industries vital to the benefit of the people (eg utilities, transport, health) firmly in public ownership whilst curtailing the excesses of capitalism by taxing their profits and regulating employment to keep workers safe.

Neoliberalism has failed.

Define "the Elite"
A survey released in June 2017 by Boston Consulting Group (BCG) found that around 821,000 households in the UK are millionaires.
The working class are able to toil simply because there is somewhere to toil created by entrepreneurs.
The average working hours for the workers is 40 per week, the average hours worked for business owners is probably double that,
so who actually toils the most?
I 'm willing to bet property prices surging since 1997 has played a huge factor rather than productivity and innovation.

Though I have nothing but respect for entrepreneurs and the risks they take, very few go into business to give work to the community. Even then it's usually PR centric. It's all about the potential rewards and freedom from power structure. Any good business owner would replace those workers with tech if it was viable.

For one, I’m glad they would 😂

Socialism is a philosophy of failure
The creed of ignorance
And the gospel of envy
It's inherent virtue is the equal sharing of misery.

Churchill was a great war leader but hopelessly out of touch with the public mood in peacetime. Apart from 1940-45 his political career was not a great success.

The elite- those whose ancestors have trod on our ancestors and continue to do so through the generations.

The owners dont work as hard hence their ability to do more. As for providing a place to work, we can do that ourselves if we can sieze the factories from them.

We might even let them work with us afterwards.

Yes that worked for Fidel Castro, but the rest of Cuba paid the price.
All revolutions, end with same result, some sooner than others, and that
is a return to the status quo of sheep and shepherds.

Arguably rightly so but his many flaws and failures shouldn't be ignored.
